The Eastleigh & District Model boat club was
formed approx 22 years ago, as a breakaway from the "Southampton Model
Power Boat Club", It managed to get the use of the one of the new lakes
that was formed at Lakeside in Eastleigh, when the work was being carried out
on the extension of the M27 motorway.
It started off with approx 20 members, now the membership has increased to
over 80, and is one of the largest model boat clubs in the south. The club
has always been run on the friendly side, and welcomes any new members.
During 2006, we will be inviting numerous clubs to the pond at Twyford Waterworks,
and we will also be hosting a round of the "Scale Steering" competitions
which is run by the South West Association of Model Boat Clubs, which Eastleigh
is a member of.
The club meets on the first Thursday of the month at Churchill's Club, Desborough
Road in Eastleigh. If you would like to become a member, please print off the
