Static Days 2008
Twyford Waterworks will also be open for guided tours with all the machinery on static display on the following dates:

Models and Miniatures Day
Sunday 6th July 2008 sees a gathering of many types of models and modeling at the historic Twyford Waterworks.
Rather than concentrating on one specific form the day aims to be as eclectic as possible with exhibits ranging from live steam through to displays of modelers at work.
Engines from 6" scale down to 2" and below will be on display and running around our five acre site whilst in the various buildings and in marquees will be diverse displays from Lego to model railway layouts.
At the same time as much as the Waterworks, a Scheduled Ancient Monument, will be open and running as possible.
The 1930's diesel pumping engines will be in operation along with examples of gas and, uniquely to the site, water powered engines. The narrow gauge industrial railway and incline railway will also be working.

In addition to our main open days we are open on selected
Sundays and other days between 11am and 4pm. On these days we offer guided
tours of the site whilst the the engines are static. We charge £4.00
per adult and children under 16 are free. The tea room will be open for refreshments
on these days as well.
If your group or organisation would like to arrange a visit to us at other
times please contact the chairman. We are able to offer guided tours to suit
all interests. Costs and details on request.
All of the above dates come with a 'gentle' health warning, we are all volunteers
and have family/work commitments and whilst every endeavor will be made to
keep to the above schedule, we cannot guarantee sufficient personnel to safely
run the engines on all of these dates.
Having said that, we enjoy the running days
as much as you, and we have yet to cancel a day!. We suggest you check in advance
if you are traveling long distances.
